patrycja wysokińska
Patrycja Wysokińska [she/her] is a fifth-year student of directing at the Aleksander Zelwerowicz Theatre Academy in Warsaw and a scholarship holder at the Institute of Applied Theatre Studies at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen, Germany. She graduated in Korean Studies at the University of Warsaw, and in Economics and International Economic Relations at the Warsaw School of Economics.
She made her debut at the Jan Kochanowski Theatre in Opole ("Kordian;", premiere: 26.11.2022, form of work: directing) and at the Helena Modrzejewska National Old Theatre ("Midsummer Night's Dream;" directed by Krzysztof Garbaczewski, premiere: 18.02.2022, form of work: dramaturgy).
Performances and plays directed by her have been shown during the Theatermaschine festival in Giessen ('PROJECT 24', 'Artificial Creativity: A Human Response', 2023), PROJECT PROMO: EVEN YOUNGER GENERATION within the Generation After 6. Showcase at the Theatre Academy in Warsaw and Nowy Teatr in Warsaw ('Realverse', 2022), residency at the 11. Sopot Non-Fiction Festival ('Academy of Awakening', 2022, co-director), the 11th Young Direction Forum in Kraków ('In Flames', 2021), the 1st Mozart Junior Festival at the Warsaw Chamber Opera ('Apollo and Hyacinth', 2020) and the 10th Entree Artistic Observatory in Chorzów ('Post-Memory Laboratory', 2019).
Participant of masterclasses with Romeo Castellucci, Jan Lauwers, Krzysztof Warlikowski, Sodja Zupanc-Lotker, Stefan Kaegi of Rimini Protokoll, Andrzej Wirth and Regina Guhl, conducted at the Theatre Academy in Warsaw, as well as workshops within the Open Studios in collaboration between the Studio Theatre in Warsaw and Onassis Stegi in Athens with Lola Arias, Alexander Giesche and Aukje Verhoog, Rabih Mroué, Toshiki Okada, Daniel Wetzel from Rimini Protokoll, as well as workshops with Claire Vivianne Sobottke, Agata Duda-Gracz, Wojtek Ziemilski, Weronika Szczawińska, Manolis Tsipos, Nicholas Johnson and Jonathan Heron from the Samuel Beckett Laboratory, Roman Siwulak from Cricot 2 or the workshop 'Acting Robots' with Markus Schubert during the international conference 'Learning for the Future' at the Theaterakademie August Everding in Munich.
As an assistant, she worked with Maja Kleczewska ('Face to Face', Zygmunt Hübner Powszechny Theatre in Warsaw, Polish Theatre in Bydgoszcz, 2021), Michał Borczuch ('Transformations', Studio Theatre in Warsaw, Polish Theatre in Bydgoszcz, Łaźnia Nowa Theatre in Krakow, 2021) and Damian Josef Neć ('Der Szturem. Cwiszyn/The Tempest. Between', Jewish Theatre in Warsaw, 2020). She was also a free auditor for the play 'Imagine 2', directed by Krystian Lupa, (Powszechny Theatre in Warsaw, Powszechny Theatre in Łódź, 2022). Semi-finalist of two editions of Papaya Young Directors/Creators (7th and 9th), finalist of the 10th "ENTREE Artistic Observatory" and winner of the 5th edition of the MODELATORNIA Theatre Project Competition referring to the artistic ideas of Jerzy Grotowski.
She is interested in new technology (XR), immersion, posthumanism, complex narrations, film, choreography, and performance.
